JESUS THE REASON FOR THE SEASON

One Solitary Life

He was born in an obscure village
The child of a peasant woman
He grew up in another obscure village
Where he worked in a carpenter shop
Until he was thirty

He never wrote a book
He never held an office
He never went to college
He never visited a big city
He never traveled more than two hundred miles
From the place where he was born
He did none of the things
Usually associated with greatness
He had no credentials but himself

He was only thirty three when

His friends ran away
One of them denied him
He was turned over to his enemies
And went through the mockery of a trial
He was nailed to a cross between two thieves
While dying, his executioners gambled for his clothing
The only property he had on earth

When he was dead
He was laid in a borrowed grave
Through the pity of a friend

Nineteen centuries have come and gone
And today Jesus is the central figure of the human race
And the leader of mankind's progress
All the armies that have ever marched
All the navies that have ever sailed
All the parliaments that have ever sat
All the kings that ever reigned put together
Have not affected the life of mankind on earth
As powerfully as that one solitary life

This narrative barely scratches the surface of His goodness or His greatness, yet in this politically correct environment we cannot even mention Christmas is about Jesus Christ. It cannot be denied by any historian that Jesus Christ is one of the reasons if not the main reason behind the greatness of our nation. He and the Bible are our nations foundations. Here are some Biblical truths about Jesus Christ that our founding fathers as well as other great men throughout the ages have acknowledged.

He is God in human flesh.
He left the honor and glory of heaven to serve mankind’s need for forgiveness.
His sacrificial love laying down His life will always be the greatest example of love to the human race.
Angels and men worshipped Him.
Demons fled at the mere mention of His name.
His very presence alone transformed lives.
His words are filled with wisdom and power.
Eternity beats in His breast.
He is the author of life the creator of the entire creation.
He bore the sin and punishment for every person ever born.
Whoever believes on Him and receives Him He gives them eternal life.
Whoever received Him He gave them the right to become the children of God.
He was perfect and sinless His entire to the very moment of His death as He gave up His life for us.
Because of His sinless perfection He was able to bear our sins and the punishment for them.
No other religious leader claimed divinity or to be sinless.
He healed multitudes and met the needs of all who cried out to Him.
His love is matchless His wisdom ageless.
He was born of virgin thus had legal right to enter the creation as a human being defeating forever Satan's usurped authority over mankind.
He said, "All power in heaven and earth was given to Him."
He told us, "He and the Father are one and if we have seen Him we have seen the Father."
The Bible says, When we see Him we will be like Him.
God is conforming Christians to His image in character.
Jesus is the perfect Son the second Adam and those born again in Him will rule and reign with Him.
He fulfilled many biblical prophecies.
In doing so He defied the mathamatical odds for error proving Jesus alone is who He said He is.
He is the only mediator between God and man.
He satisfied God’s law so mercy and grace could be poured out upon the human race.
He was seen by over 500 at His resurrection.
He has appeared to untold thousands over the years proving His eternal existence without beginning or end.
He rose from the dead after having satisfied the judgment of God for us.
Death the grave and Satan could not hold Him.

The Bible says, He came into His world and people because of their hard hearts did not recognize Hm. The night of His birth there was no room for Him. America has become a nation that does not know Him. We have become a people that have no room for Him. Today we cannot even put up a nativity scene in a public place denying Him once again a place in our lives and in our country. To display a nativity scene is not an act of private worship but a national recognition of His influence in our country and a celebration of His life.

The horror and terror that has come upon nations that have rejected Him is too painful to recount. Wherever Jesus Christ is rejected demons and all their cruelty fill the hearts of mankind. Wherever the name and person of Jesus is absent evil reigns. Nations that reject His reign have fallen pray to wars and horrors untold. I pray this Christmas we will allow Christ to be recognized in our nation and for those who know Him worshipped in their hearts.
