Christmas Is Not A Dirty Word

In our society we are told we must respect everyones beliefs and we can't offend anyone.
If someone wants to celebrate Kwanza or any other holiday around Christmas, we are to respect their right to do so. I do!! Happy Kwanza to all those who celebrate it. I'd love to learn more about it. Happy Chanukah to all those who celebrate it. Merry Christmas to ... uh-oh, I forgot. I'm not allowed to say "Christmas".
I can say Kwanza, Chanukah and Halloween but not Merry Christmas!
I hear all kinds of foul language spoken by people all the time. Some of the biggest offenders are the very ones who take umbrage with me when I wish them a Merry Christmas. Yet, I know they buy their children Christmas presents and they have a Christmas tree, etc. So why can't I wish people a Merry Christmas? I don't understand. When did Christmas become a dirty word??
This past Halloween many people wished me a "Happy Halloween". They didn't say Happy Holiday. In fact, no one said "Happy Holiday". It seems to me there are two sets of standards here.
The vast majority of people in this country celebrate CHRISTMAS!
When did a celebration of what Jesus Christ brought to the earth become evil? He took the punishment for our sins. He's God who became man. He opened the door for us to live in eternal happiness with the Father. Isn't that something to celebrate? Whether you are a Christian or not, can you respect my right to celebrate Christmas?
When did peace on earth and good will to men become something bad?
When did Scrooge become the hero and the one we are to copy?
The Bible says in John 3:19
"... light is come unto the world and men loved darkness, rather than light, because of their evil ..."
When I am in a store paying for my Christmas gifts, I wish the clerk a Merry Christmas or Happy Chanukah. I've been doing this for the past few years. Only one person of the many I've spoken to took offense and said they celebrated "Buddha". OK ... celebrate Buddha ... wish me a Happy Buddha but let me celebrate Christmas.
Everyone but this one individual responded with a smile and wished me a Merry Christmas. If they were Jewish, they let me know. I wished them a Happy Chanukha and they wished me a Merry Christmas.
I went into one store looking for little Christmas guest towels. I saw Santa towels, Snowmen towels, Happy Holiday towels but no Christmas towels. I asked the sales clerk if they had any Christmas towels. She pointed to the section behind me. No, I said, I'm looking for Christmas towels. Something that says, "Merry Christmas or has a Nativity Scene on it.
She didn't even know what I was talking about.
The vast majority of the people of this country celebrate CHRISTMAS. I'm offended by being told I can't say, "Merry Christmas". So to all of you people who celebrate CHRISTMAS, I wish you a "Merry Christmas". For all of you people who don't celebrate it or celebrate something else and respect my right to celebrate CHRISTMAS, I wish you, too, a very MERRY CHRISTMAS. CHRISTMAS IS NOT A DIRTY WORD.
