The Youth Ministry
John the Apostle was just a teenager…He is known as the Apostle who Jesus loved.
What a wonderful opportunity to speak with our young people. They are all very excited about the Youth Group.
I spoke with our youth group the other day and they filled me in on some of what’s happening. The group is in the planning stages and they are talking with Pastor Sal about all the things they’d like to do. Now is the time to come out and join them, so you too, can give your ideas.
The Group is for Junior High School, High School, College Students and youth up to the age of 25.
Here are just some of things that are in the works:
• A Facebook Page
• Fun Events ….Lots Of Fun I was told
• Playing Music
• Maybe a Fair
• A chance to ask Pastor questions…this is interactive…bring your ideas and questions for Pastor
• A time for prayer
Since I am unable to attend the Youth Group, one of their members has agreed to be our roving reporter. She’ll keep us posted as to activities and fun things that happen. I hope to hear about answered prayers and lots of fun events.
YOU GO GUYS (or is that phrase outdated???) Anyway, we are very proud of all of you. Keep us posted. We want to hear about all the wonderful things you are doing.
THINK ABOUT THIS -- Matthew Chapter 22
We choose. Jesus tells the parable about the King who went into the highways and by ways to invite people to his son’s wedding feast because his original guests refused to show up. They even beat up the messengers. So the King invited others – beggars, people on the street, sinners like us.
He clothed the beggars in decent clothes, so they’d look good at the wedding. He fed them food, when they probably didn’t have any. He treated them like honored guests. Only one person refused to get dressed up in the finery he was given. He declined the robe of righteousness that would have made him presentable to the King at the wedding feast. Many are called and few are chosen (Matt 22: 14)
